Overview
BGL has integrated with CommSec, providing users with a daily, automated data feed.
The following information is provided through the feed:
-
Investment movements (purchases and disposals).
-
Historical balances (transaction history will not be available).
*Simple Fund/Invest 360 will still be able to automatically code dividend transactions using it's inbuilt ASX data feed provided that the cash movement has been recorded.
**Only historical balances are provided by CommSec, not historical transaction data.
Note:
-
CommSec do not currently support data feeds for CommSec International Shares Accounts.
-
Cash movements are not imported through the CommSec data feed. However, users can still import bank data through the BGL Bank Data Service, a Bank CSV File Import, or by uploading a PDF Bank Statements to Smartdocs.
To authorise a data feed from CommSec into Simple Fund 360, an authority form will need to be completed.
The authority form can be obtained via the Wrap Feed Setup screen. Please email the completed CommSec authority form to CommSecTechSupport@cba.com.au . A copy of an authority form is also available here.
To set up a CommSec data feed within Simple Fund 360, please navigate to the Feed Management screen and follow the below instructions.
Within the Feed Management screen, click the blue ( + ) Setup button to create a new feed.
-
Entity - Ensure that the correct entity has been selected.
-
Feed Provider - Select 'CommSec' from the dropdown.
-
Account ID - Input the Account Number for the wrap account.
-
Do not import data before - Users can restrict the data that is imported by the feed by inputting a date. Clicking on the three dots will allow you to also enter a Do Not Import Data After date. This step is optional.
-
Account Mapping - Users are required to link asset accounts to the feed to ensure that data is allocated to the desired asset accounts. To link the feed to asset accounts in the account mapping section, click on the checkbox under the ‘Linked’ column.
-
Save - Click this button to ensure that any changes made are saved.
Cash movements can be imported through one of the following methods:
-
BGL Bank Data Service - Provides a daily, automated bank feed.
-
Bank CSV File Import - Allows users to manually import data in bulk using a CSV file.
-
Uploading PDF Bank Statements to SmartDocs - Allows users to manually import data in bulk and enter opening balances by uploading PDF copies of bank statements.
What is the turnaround time for authorising a data feed?
Is historical data provided by the feed?
Only historical balances will be provided from CommSec. The complete transaction history will not be available.
How will transactions and balances be allocated?
Transactions and balances will be posted to the asset accounts that are linked to the data feed as per the Account Mapping.
Can transactions from the feed be automatically matched and coded by the system?
The system can automatically match the following types of transactions provided that the debits and credits reconcile between the transactions and that the transactions are recorded within a similar date range.
-
Investment movements (Buys and Sells) and the corresponding Bank movement(s).
Any transactions which have not been automatically matched or coded by the system will need to be actioned manually.
The data feed has created duplicate accounts?
If the Account Mapping process had not been completed for all accounts when setting up the data feed within Simple Fund 360, then the system will create new accounts to allocate the data to.
If this results in duplicate asset accounts being created, please refer to our help article Wrap Feed has created duplicate accounts?
How do I cancel the data feed?
For further instructions regarding the cancellation of wrap feeds, please refer to our help article How to Cancel Data Feeds.
