Overview
Bank CSV import allows mapping and importing Bank Statement transactions (using CSV files) into Simple Fund 360. This article aims to demonstrate how this feature can be used.
Navigation
From the Main Toolbar, go to Connect.
Select Feed Management from the list.
Under the Advanced Options & Reports section, select File Import. |
Instructions
1. Select Bank account
On the File Import Screen, the system will default to have Bank CSV Import selected. From the Drop-down options under Selected Bank account, select the bank account to upload transactions for.
2. Select a CSV file
Drag & drop a file in the dropping area or click in the dropping area to select a CSV file to upload.
3. Transaction Date Format autofill
Once a CSV file is uploaded, the system would detect the Transaction Date Format and populate the field. Multiple date formats are supported, so users do not have to amend different formats before uploading. After a successful upload, the date format will display in the system as the default DD/MM/YYYY.
4. Select Column Headers
The transactions contained within the CSV file will normally be displayed under these headers: Date, Description, Debit and/or Credit. Different formats can be accommodated.
- Single-sided vs Double-sided transaction amounts
Both double-sided CSV files (the file contains separate Debit and Credit columns instead of a single amount column) and single-sided files are supported in Simple Fund 360. For a single-sided CSV, the header selected should be Amount; For a double-sided CSV, the header used should be Amount Dr/Cr.
- DR vs CR
For double-sided transactions, please ensure that the DR and CR columns are shown from Simple Fund 360's point of view. If an amount is received by a bank account, this will usually be shown as a CR in the CSV file and will need to be swapped to a DR in the Simple Fund 360 CSV preview window.
In the example above, the Debit and Credit column headers will need to be selected before the file can be uploaded. To adjust the column headers, click on Please Select and select the correct header from the drop-down list.
Make sure column headers are properly selected, otherwise transactions may not be successfully uploaded. Once completed, proceed to step 5.
5. Input a date range
Users can specify a date range by filling in Do Not Load Before/After field. This step is optional and can be completed either before or after a CSV file is selected in step 2.
6. Select Import to finalise the transaction upload.
7. Once the CSV file has been imported into SF360, a message will display showing the number of transactions successfully imported and transactions failed to upload if any. Users have to option to go to Smart Matching screen to reconcile any unmatched transactions from the CSV upload, Import another CSV File or Close and Return to the Feed Management page.
If no transactions are appearing after the successful upload, ensure the fund is in the same financial year as the CSV file is intended for. See Fund Details to review financial year details.
