Overview
If you no longer require BGL to continue receiving data for your accounts, you will need to cancel the feeds. The feed cancellation process will differ depending on which type of feeds you are requesting to cancel. Please refer to the relevant tab(s) below to access specific steps for each type of data feed.
How to Cancel a BGL Bank Data Service Feed
Important:
Cancellation is permanent and cannot be reversed. It removes the signed authority
form for the account. If the feed needs to be re-established in future, the fund must go through
the full BGL Bank Data Service onboarding process again, including a new signed authority
form. Cancelling a feed does not automatically reduce your Bank Data Pack licence or change
billing, you must submit a separate request via MyBGL Products to downgrade.
Eligibility
The Cancel Feed option is only available for feeds where the Feed Provider is BGL Bank Data
Service and the feed status is one of the following:
● Feed Operating
● Bank Approved
● Sent to Bank
● Re-Sent to Bank
For feeds in any other status, the Cancel Feed option will be visible but greyed out. If the feed
is no longer required, you can update the Feed Provider field instead.
Permissions
Only users with the Feed Management | Cancel Feeds role authority can submit a
cancellation. This permission is enabled by default for Admin and Account Owner roles. All
other roles require a firm administrator to enable it via role management settings.
If Cancel Feed is greyed out with the message "You don't have permission for this action.
Please contact your firm administrator," ask your firm administrator to enable the Feed
Management | Cancel Feeds permission for your role via Settings > User Roles. For
instructions, see Role Settings.
Note: The Account Number and Feed Provider fields are locked for editing while a feed
is active.
How to Cancel a Feed
The Cancel Feed option is available from the feed management screen.
| From the main toolbar, navigate to Connect | |
| Select Feed Management |
Select the Entity Summary or Bank Feeds Global tab.
Locate the bank feed to be cancelled and click the three-dot action menu on the right side of the bank feed.
Then select Cancel Feed.
A pop-up will display showing all of the bank feeds enabled currently within the fund. Selecting a checkbox next to each bank feed will allow for multiple bank feeds to be cancelled. Review and select the bank feeds to be cancelled, then click confirm.
Once confirmed, the following will occur:
- A success message - "Cancellation request submitted successfully" will appear on the
Feed Management screen. - The feed status will update to Cancelled Feed and Simple Fund 360 will stop importing
data for the account immediately, even if the bank continues to send it. - BGL will send a formal cancellation request to the bank as part of the next weekly
processing cycle to stop the feed on the bank's end.
BankStatements.com.au
To cease the data feed being received from BankStatements.com.au, the user will need to remove the BankStatements authorisation entered within the bank account’s feed setup screen (accessible from the Feed Management screen).
If the account holder(s) change their online banking login credentials, this will also result in the data feed ceasing to operate and BGL will no longer receive data.
Macquarie Cash ESI Feed
If the account holder(s) would like to cease the data feed and cancel the adviser’s authority on the account, they will need to get into contact with Macquarie Bank directly to request this change. The contact details for Macquarie Bank can be found here. For cash accounts it is best to contact the Cash Team on 1800 808 508.
If the SF360 user removes the ESI Authentication credentials from the Provider Settings, this will also cease the data feed.
Share Data Feed
To cancel share data feeds for an entity, please email bankfeeds@bglcorp.com.au, referencing your Firm Name, the Fund Name, and the Unique Email Address (contract notes email address if applicable) of the entities that you would like to remove from the service.
A member of the BGL Data Services Team will contact you via email to confirm the removal of the quoted entities from the Share Data Pack
Wrap Data Feed
If wrap account data is no longer required by the accountant or trustee, please kindly ask the adviser on the wrap account to contact the wrap provider directly to cancel the data feed for BGL360.
As wrap data feeds are setup under the appointed adviser’s authority and not BGL’s, it is not possible for BGL to request a cancellation of the data feed(s) on our end.
Frequently Asked Questions - Cancelling Bank Feeds
There are two reasons this can happen. First, check the feed status as Cancel Feed is only available for feeds in one of these statuses: Feed Operating, Bank Approved, Sent to Bank, or Re-Sent to Bank. For any other status, update the Feed Provider field directly if the feed is no longer needed. Second, if the option is greyed out with the message "You don't have permission for this action. Please contact your firm administrator," ask your firm administrator to enable the Feed Management | Cancel Feeds permission for your role via Settings > User Roles.
Note that cancelling a feed does not automatically reduce your Bank Data Pack licence tier or change your billing. If you wish to downgrade, you still need to submit a separate request via MyBGL Products.
