When retrieving or lodging an Activity Statement, you may receive the following error:
CMN.ATO.AS.EM024 – Access to the activity statement is not available
This error is returned by the ATO when the requested Activity Statement cannot be accessed.
Common causes
Branch Code mismatch
The Branch Code in Simple Fund 360 must match the Branch Code held by the ATO for the entity.
To verify:
- Open the fund.
- Navigate to Compliance > BAS/IAS.
- Review the Branch Code displayed.
- Confirm it matches the Branch Code recorded with the ATO.
Activity Statement not available
The ATO may not have generated the Activity Statement for the selected period. This can occur when:
- The reporting period is not yet due.
- The Activity Statement has not been issued by the ATO.
- The statement has been revised and is unavailable through the current request.
ATO access or client authorisation issues
Ensure that:
- The ABN is correct.
- The client is linked to your practice in Online Services for Agents.
- Your practice has the required permissions to access the client's Activity Statements.
Resolution
If the details in Simple Fund 360 are correct and the error persists:
- Confirm the Branch Code with the ATO.
- Verify the Activity Statement is available through Online Services for Agents.
- Check that the client is correctly linked to your practice and that the necessary permissions have been granted.
- Contact the ATO to confirm there are no restrictions preventing access to the Activity Statement.
If the ATO confirms the Activity Statement is unavailable, you will need to follow the guidance provided by the ATO before attempting to retrieve or lodge the statement again.
