The Activity Statements screen provides a redesigned experience for preparing, managing, and lodging BAS and IAS forms within Simple Fund 360.
This release introduces a modernised BAS/IAS workflow, support for additional form types, and amendment functionality for previously lodged forms.
Overview
The new Activity Statements screen includes:
- A redesigned BAS/IAS interface with improved navigation and workflow
- Support for nine additional BAS/IAS form types
- Amendment functionality for previously lodged BAS/IAS forms
- Improved visibility of ATO and BGL processing statuses
- Simplified preparation, prefilling, editing, retrieval, and viewing actions
The screen centralises activity statement management and provides a clearer overview of statement progress and lodgment status.
Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) forms can be downloaded from the ATO directly into this screen. Where supported, prefill data is downloaded automatically and Simple Fund 360 populates these fields using its own calculations based on your ledger data. You can also prepare, edit, and lodge these forms from here.
Pre-requisites

Important
The Create Entries Process is not required to be completed prior to lodging. GST is calculated on post.
-
Select ATO Download at the top right of the screen to retrieve available BAS and IAS forms from the ATO for the selected entity.
-
In the Download ATO Activity Statements window, select a period from the Transaction Date dropdown (for example, Previous Quarter). The Start Date and End Date fill in automatically for that period.
To download a different range, edit the Start Date and End Date. The Transaction Date changes to Custom Dates.
- Select Download to retrieve available BAS and IAS forms from the ATO for the selected entity for the date period you set. The statements then display in the Activity Statements screen table.
-
Next to the relevant form, select Prefill.
Where supported:
- ATO prefill data automatically populates relevant fields
- Ledger balances within Simple Fund/Invest 360 calculate applicable amounts
- You can review, edit, and validate forms before lodgment
Instalment notices (Forms N, R, S and T)
These forms only need to be lodged if you vary the pre-filled instalment amount. If you pay the amount as shown, Validate is greyed out and the form can't be lodged. Pay the amount by the due date, then select Mark As Finalised from the Action column to record the form as done.
See BAS Form R and Annual IAS Form N for step-by-step instructions.
The redesigned Activity Statements screen supports amendments for previously lodged BAS and IAS forms.
You can:
- Create amendments directly from lodged statements
- Update previously submitted information
- Lodge amended forms electronically
- Track amendment statuses within the Activity Statements screen
An amended form displays as a separate row in the table, with the amendment number shown after the form type, for example Business Activity Statement (Form A) - Amendment 1.
This removes the need for external amendment workarounds previously required for BAS/IAS amendments.
Frequently Asked Questions
The Branch Code field in the Download ATO Activity Statements window (opened by selecting ATO Download) is greyed out and can't be edited.
This is expected. The Activity Statements screen lodges BAS and IAS forms with the ATO using SBR2, which doesn't use a branch code. The Branch Code shown has no effect on downloading, prefilling or lodging your activity statements, so it doesn't need to be changed.
This happens when the required option isn't selected in Part C - PAYG income tax instalment. Make sure Option 1 - Pay a PAYG instalment amount quarterly is selected.
If the form hasn't been updated from the ATO recently, select Retrieve next to the form to get the latest information from the ATO, then select Prefill.
On forms with a PAYG instalment variation option (for example, BAS Form A), this happens when an amount, including 0, has been entered at a variation label but no reason has been selected at T4. The form can't be saved until a reason is selected, so the signature date isn't saved and Validate isn't available.
To fix this:
- If you're varying the instalment, select the reason for the variation at T4.
- If you aren't varying the instalment, delete the amount (including any 0) from the variation label, such as the new varied rate at T3, so it's blank.
- Enter the Lodging Party Signature Date, save the form, then select Validate.
If Validate is greyed out with the message Lodgement not required if no variation is made, the pre-filled instalment amount hasn't been varied.
Under ATO rules, instalment notices (Form N, R, S and T) only need to be lodged when you vary a pre-filled amount. If you accept the amount, paying it meets your obligation, so the form can't be validated or lodged. This applies from the 17 September 2026 release, when activity statements moved to this screen.
To complete the form:
- Pay the pre-filled amount to the ATO by the due date.
- Select Mark As Finalised from the Action column to record the form as done.
The ATO lodgement status updates automatically once the ATO processes your payment. To update it straight away, select ATO Download.
If you need to vary the amount, complete the variation section of the form and Validate becomes available.
