Support Query
I'm processing a rollover, however, I receive a rejected error message that the ABN is not known to the Message Receiver. How do I fix this?
Potential error messages that display: ABN [abn] not known to the Message Receiver.
Solution
This error message is due to incorrect ABN details entered in for the external party when initiating a Roll-In request, or Roll-Out transaction.
The fund's ABN can be confirmed via the ABN Lookup, as per the below link: https://superfundlookup.gov.au/
Ensure you have double-checked the accuracy of the fund's details prior to re-processing the request.
A common reason why the error message occurs, is because a company or other entity's ABN has been entered rather than the fund's ABN.
Example:
Below is an example of where the ABN was obtained for an entity type that is Australian Private Company.
The ABN should instead be obtained where the entity type is an APRA Fund or ATO Regulated Self-Managed Superannuation Fund.
Important: It is the responsibility of the user initiating the request to double-check the accuracy of the external party fund details.
Note
Where the ABN is correct, and the error message still occurs when re-processing the request, please contact the external fund to seek further clarification on the rejected message.
