When validating the tax return, I receive the following error:

CMN.ATO.GEN.001001: Mandatory field not supplied

SMSF Annual Return    /xbrli:xbrl/pyin.02.16:Lodgment.FirstReturn.Indicator

Solution

This error will come up if you have not completed Section A - Question 5 in the SMSF Annual Return.

Select Yes or No and re-validate the return.
