What’s new in Simple Fund 360 and Simple Invest 360

Crypto Tax Calculator Integration: BGL now integrates with Crypto Tax Calculator, an Australian-made cryptocurrency software provider with full support for the unique ATO reporting requirements. This integration will help Simple Fund 360 and Simple Invest 360 clients identify, track, and organise their clients’ crypto activity across hundreds of exchanges and blockchains with ease and accuracy. Learn More 

Investment Security List screen (BETA): Custom security prices can now be saved at the fund level in the new Investment Security List screen. Also, the search function has been optimised to reduce the time it takes to return search results. Learn More 

Workflow and Workpapers: The Workflow and Workpapers modules are now linked! When the status of a Workpaper Pack changes to Ready for Review, Completed or Rework Required, the associated jobs/tasks in Workflow are automatically updated.

Workflow: The following improvements have been made to the Workflow module: 

• The ability to filter by start date.
• The ability to filter sub-status in alphabetical order.
• Newly generated jobs now display with “Created by” user details.

Cash Flow Reporting: Cash flow labels can now be set in the Statement of Cash Flows screen for easy data comparison across multiple periods. The report can now also be exported. 

Analytical Insights Dashboard: The Analytical Insights Excel downloads now include establishment dates for Complete and Entity reports. Learn More

Documents Screen: The PDF previewer in the Documents screen now displays the document folder name and financial year. From this screen, folders can be added or deleted and the financial year can be assigned. Any categorised files (i.e. with the financial year assigned and account folders) will be included in the Workpaper. Learn More

BGL SmartDocs: Details extracted by BGL SmartDocs can now be updated and used to search transactions in both the Smart Matching Screen and Transaction Suggestion sections of the PDF previewer. Learn More

Badges: A new revaluation option has been added for managed funds/unit trust prices and share prices/cryptocurrencies. Learn More

Corporate Actions: A Refresh button has been added to the Corporate Action screen to populate newly created investment accounts. Also, the following ASX mergers have been added to Corporate Actions: 

• CHZ – 23 September 2023
• MGV – 29 September 2023
• TNT – 06 October 2023
• DDH – 10 October 2023

Franking Worksheet: The Franking Worksheet has been improved to display large numbers without needing a scroll bar. Learn More

Workpapers: The following Workpapers warnings/observations have been updated for Work Test requirements: 

• If the Financial Year is 2020 or prior, a member age of 65+ will trigger the warning
• If the Financial year is 2020/21 or 2021/22, a member age of 67+ will trigger the warning
• If the Financial year is 2023 or later, there will be no warning.

Investment Reports: The unit column in Investment Reports with cryptocurrencies will be increased from 2 to 6 decimal places. Learn More

Wraps and Platforms: The total number of records allowed in the BGL File Excel template has been increased to 5,000. Learn More

Smart Matching: The Smart Matching screen has been updated to allow a maximum of 20 characters for bank account numbers (previously 10). Additionally, Smart Matching will no longer tick ‘selected parcel contract date’ by default for Capital Return transactions. Learn More

Exclusive to Simple Fund 360

TBAR: An opening balance wizard has been added to allow the entry of opening Transfer Balance Account balances. This removes the need to enter prior-year events and apply indexation where the history is not in Simple Fund 360. Learn More

Exclusive to Simple Invest 360

Progress Report: A new setting has been added to the Portfolio Progress Report to generate the report utilising data from the inception of the accounting file. Learn More
