Introduction:
Due to COVID-19, SMSF performance may have been severely affected. therefore BGL provides users with the ability to add notes to financial statements to reflect the impact. Notes can be customised both at Badge and individual fund level. Notes customised at the Badge level will be applied to all funds using the same badge, while updates at an individual level will be applied only to the specific fund.
Instructions:
1. Badge Level Customisation:
| 1. From the Main toolbar navigate to Settings |  |
| 2. Select Badge |  |
| 3. Click on Create New Badge or edit an existing Badge |  |
| 4.Scroll and locate Include Notes section |  |
| 5. Tick the checkbox beside Custom and input the custom text. |  |
| 6. Select Save to update the badge |  |
Updates will apply to Notes for all the funds linked to the given badge. Where no texts are entered for a badge, the default text "The Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic is expected to cause a material decline in the market value of the fund investments. The trustees are aware of the uncertainty surrounding the global markets during this time and the effects it will have on the value of the fund investments after the reporting date" will display as Notes.
Please note: If you are using a custom badge and the custom notes are not displaying properly, you may need to reset the template for Notes to the Financial Statements. For further details, please check Resetting a Template.
2. Individual Fund Level
| 1. Select a fund. |  |
| 2. Navigate to Reports. |  |
| 3. Search for Notes to the Financial Statements. Add it to the central field. | |
| 4. Select Settings. | |
| 5. Update the Title and Text field |  |
| 6. Save the update to apply to the setting |  |
The customisation will be applied to this specific fund when Notes are generated. This will also overwrite any settings created at badge level.
