How do I set up a managed portfolio of listed Australian shares and trusts as one investment in Simple Fund 360? The portfolio manager reports show income, expenses and change in value plus there is a tax report splitting out the different types of income and the capital gains and losses when the various underlying shares and units in trusts are sold.

Solution

Add an investment account under account code 74700 - Managed Investments (Australian). Refer to Investment Accounts for steps. Using account 74700 will automatically create a linked distribution account (23800) which is used to post year-end tax statements (see How to Enter a Distribution & Tax Statement for more).
