Support Query
I'm unable to post a disposal of investments held. A message appears that 'Units entered must match the Units to sell.' How do I proceed?
Solution 1
The error may be due to an incomplete record of the investment history. The units currently entered as part of the disposal transaction may be more than the units recorded against the investment to sell.
Check the CGT Register to ensure investment history has been recorded for the fund.
If a parcel is missing, users may proceed to record the purchase transaction as follows:
DR Investment Account |
CR 60400/Bank Account |
Input the number of units purchased in the Units column, and ensure the contract date is the original purchase date used for CGT purchases. |

Once completed, the disposal can be completed with the units recorded/held for the investment.
Solution 2
If the investment history has been accurately recorded, and you are still unable to dispose of investments held, the error may be due to an incorrect disposal transaction posted at a future date.
Navigate to Accounting | Transaction List
Use the filters on the transaction list, to locate transactions relating to the investment. For example:
Locate the incorrect disposal transaction posted, and either delete the transaction or edit the transaction to accurately reflect current year processing.
Note
Upon recording the disposal transaction, in the more details panel, users can select the disposal method as manual to select the correct purchase parcels being disposed of.
