BGL's Financial Analytics Assistant is a tool designed to assist with retrieving financial-related data. It is not intended to replace professional accounting, financial, or investment advice. The information provided by the AI Assistant should not be relied upon as a substitute for consultation with qualified professionals. You are responsible for ensuring that the AI Assistant's outputs meet your specific business or investment needs.
The Financial Analytics Assistant helps you instantly analyse entity-level financial reports across your SMSFs, companies, trusts, and individuals.
The AI Assistant provides intelligent, conversational access to key financial insights — including financial position, income and expense breakdowns, and cash flow summaries.
How to use the AI Assistant
Log in to Simple Fund 360 or Simple Invest 360, select an entity, and the AI Assistant icon will appear at the top-right corner of the banner, next to the Help button.
- Choose Finanical Analysis AI Assistant (Beta)
- Ask your question, or select a suggested query
Use the AI Assistant to quickly retrieve and summarise:
- Balance sheet insights — assets, liabilities, and equity breakdowns
- Operating statement trends — income, expenses, net profit/loss
- Cash flow movements — including operating, investing, and financing activity
- Summaries and drill-downs — get totals or detailed account values
- Targeted searches — by security, account name, chart code, or label
The AI Assistant uses summarised data from these internal report functions:
Function | Includes |
Statement of Financial Position | Assets, liabilities, net assets |
Operating Statement | Income and expenses (by account codes) |
Cash Flow Statement | Cash movements by activity category |
All data is pulled per entity, based on end-of-FY balances.
By default, the AI Assistant uses the current financial year, but you can specify a different year or date. If you provide a date, the AI Assistant uses the ATO-aligned July–June rule to infer the financial year.
Try asking:
- "Show me the balance sheet for FY2024"
- "What’s the dividend income from ANZ for last 3 years?"
- "Give me total liabilities this year"
- "Cash inflows and outflows for last year?"
- "How much unrealised gain did this fund make in 2023?"
- "Export a CSV of all income accounts"
The AI Assistant searches both parent and sub-accounts. For example:
“What’s the balance for ANZ?”
The AI Assistant will check:
mapOfInvestmentAssets → subItemMap → ANZ
mapOfInvestmentIncome → subItemMap → ANZ Group Holdings Limited
itemName in cash flow → fuzzy match → "ANZ"
Exact and fuzzy matching is supported.
If multiple matches are found, the AI Assistant will ask for clarification.
For each matched account or group, the AI Assistant will show:
Field | Example |
Account Name | Dividends Received |
Account Code | 23900 |
Sub-account Name | ANZ Group Holdings Limited |
Balance Value | e.g. $12,350 |
Classification | Income / Expense / Asset / Liability |
Account Type | Standalone or group account |
The AI Assistant's response mirrors what you’d find in:
- Statement of Financial Position
- Cash Flow Statement
- Operating Statement
For large result sets, output is formatted as a CSV file that you can download and explore further.
Use these filters in your queries:
Financial Year
Ask for a specific FY (e.g. FY2023) or say things like "this year", "last year", or provide a specific date like "01/06/2024".
By Account Type or Name
Search for categories like "ANZ", "Westpac", "Dividends Received", or "Unrealised Gains".
By Chart Code or Label
Provide an internal code (e.g. "23900" or "77600/ANZ") to directly retrieve data.
By Comparable Periods
You can request comparisons across up to 5 financial years or periods — e.g. compare last 3 years.
Admins and Account Owners have default access to these AI Assistants.
