Overview
Macquarie Accounts connected using the BGL Bank Data Service will now have six monthly statements automatically imported into the Documents screen and Workpapers. Macquarie will issue statements to BGL on a six-month basis, eliminating the need to request documents from the Trustees.
Prerequisites
- This feature is exclusively available for Macquarie accounts that have signed up with the BGL Bank Data Service.
- The Macquarie Bank Feed needs to be established by the last day of the reporting period in order for BGL to receive the Macquarie Statement. For example, by June 30th, to receive the 1 January to 30 June Statement.
- For BGL to download the Statement, the Macquarie Bank Feed needs to be active, i.e. Bank Approved or Feed Operating, otherwise the Bank Statement will not be imported.
Feed Type Eligibility
Macquarie offers two feed types. Statement availability depends on which one a fund's bank account is connected with.
| Feed Provider | Feed Type | Statements Available |
|---|---|---|
| Macquarie | BGL Bank Data Service | Yes |
| Macquarie | ESI (Electronic Statement Interface) | No |
Macquarie ESI feeds are not eligible
If a fund's Macquarie account is connected using an ESI feed instead of the BGL Bank Data Service, statements will not be imported. There is no workaround for ESI feeds. See Checking Your Macquarie Feed Type below if you are unsure which feed type a fund is using.
How It Works
BGL will receive statements twice a year for active Macquarie bank feeds. These statements will cover two periods: 1 July to 31 December, and 1 January to 30 June.
From 01/07/2024 onwards, Macquarie will only provide six-monthly statements.
Note: Most Recent Statements Available
The most recent statements available are from the 1 Jan 2026 to 30 June 2026 period.
Once statements are available, a paperclip icon will appear against the bank feed record for users to click on to view the statement.
The Statement will automatically upload to the Document Screen, we will tag the statement’s financial year and the relevant folder (60400/BankAccount).
As we have automatically linked the Macquarie Statement for you, the Statement will also appear in the Workpapers screen under the Bank Account folder.
Understanding the "First Processed" Date
When viewing a statement in the Documents screen or Workpapers, you will see a First Processed date. This is not the same as the period the statement covers.
- First Processed date, the date BGL first received and processed the statement file from Macquarie.
- Transaction date range, the actual period covered by the statement (for example, 1 January to 30 June).
Always check the statement's own start and end dates to confirm the coverage period. Do not use the First Processed date for this purpose.
Statement Issue Schedule
Macquarie issues statements on a fixed schedule based on the financial year period. BGL makes a statement available for import only once Macquarie has issued it, so a statement will not appear until its period has closed.
| Statement Period | Issued By |
|---|---|
| 1 January to 30 June | End of July (same year) |
| 1 July to 31 December | End of January (following year) |
What if I deleted the Statement?
