Issue
I have accounts with balances in them but I cannot post transactions to them and also cannot find them in the Chart of Accounts.
Symptoms
You may encounter one or more of the following:
- A bank account does not appear under Select a Bank Account when coding transactions.
- An account exists in the fund, but cannot be selected when processing transactions.
- Transactions are visible from an investment or data feed, but the related bank account is missing from selection lists.
Solution
In the Chart of Accounts, if you are unable to locate an account, it is likely that the account has been flagged as Inactive. To locate the account and rectify the issue, please take the following steps
1. Firstly, open the Chart of Accounts. This can be accessed by hovering your cursor over Accounting from the Main Toolbar and selecting Chart of Accounts.
2. The next step is to check to see if the Account has been flagged as inactive. This can be done by clicking on the Status column within the Chart of Accounts, and un-ticking every box besides the Inactive box. Once you have done this, select Apply Filter.
3. Once the Account has been located, un-tick the Inactive Account checkbox and select Save. The Account will be able to be located again and posted to as it is now active.
