Overview
New and existing subscribers for Simple Fund 360 who plan to lodge the SMSF Annual Return or process a fund rollout will need to nominate and authorise BGL with the ATO. Users must also ensure they have set up an appropriate lodging party.
When nominating BGL as your software provider, you will need to have the following information ready:
- Your ABN (Registered Agents can also use their RAN)
- The full name of the Software Provider (BGL Corporate Solutions Pty Ltd)
- SBR software ID (supplied by BGL)
There are two methods to nominate BGL as the online software provider with the ATO:
- Over the phone (1300 85 22 32):. Normal proof of record ownership (eg personal TFN, DOB, address, recent ATO generated notice) will apply to the caller.
- Online via Access Manager: myGovID is required. Click to Log in to access manager.
Software ID
Each Simple Fund 360 Subscription will have a unique Software ID.
The Software ID is needed to be able to authorise their Simple Fund 360 program to be able to lodge electronically.
The Software ID is a code unique to each subscription and can be found via the Firm profile page, lodgement declaration and lodgement screen.

The SBR Software ID can be found in the top right-hand corner along with a link to the ATO Access Manager website.
Method 1 - Over the phone (1300 85 22 32)
Contact the ATO on 1300 852 232.
Follow the prompts to complete the Proof of record ownership. Before calling, have ready your:
- personal TFN
- DOB
- address
- recent ATO generated notice
- Australian Business Number (or if you are registered Tax agent you can use your RAN)
You will be prompted to advise the software provider (BGL Corporate Solutions Pty Ltd, ABN 60606354079).
Lastly, you will need to confirm your SBR software ID.
Method 2 - Online via Access Manager
Log into the Access Manager.
Visit https://www.ato.gov.au/General/Online-services/Access-Manager/ to login to Access Manager.
Log in to Access Manager to complete your nomination by following the steps:
- Select My hosted SBR software services from the left-hand menu.
- Select Notify the ATO of your hosted service.

Search for your provider (BGL) in the list of online software providers, or search by entering the full name of the software provider (BGL Corporate Solutions Pty Ltd) and select the ABN (60606354079) link to accept the software provider.
- Enter the SBR software ID from Simple Fund 360 and select Next.
- Confirm the details and to agree with the Notification, select Save.

The message Your changes have been saved successfully will appear on the next screen to confirm the nomination.
Users have experienced delays before the ATO systems will update with your nomination. If delays persist, please contact the ATO.
Adding a New Lodging Party
From the Main Toolbar, go to Settings. | |
Select Lodging party from the list. |
- From the Lodging Party screen, select Add Lodging Party.

Start typing the first few letters of the contact in the search bar. If the contact does not exist, select Add New Contact. The Contacts screen will appear in a sub-screen. Complete the details of the contact and Save.
- If the selected Contact has representatives attached, the following screen will display.
- Select an individual from the list and select Save. The name of the individual will display under Select Lodging Party From Contacts.
- Select Trustee or Tax Agent or Business Intermediary for 2. Select the type of lodging party you are lodging as.

If you selected Tax Agent, input the Tax Agent No.
- Select the funds you want to be attached to this Lodging Party.
- Select Save.
Validation and Lodgement
Validation
From the Main Toolbar navigate to the Compliance menu. | |
Select Tax compliance. |
Select the arrow to the right of the Validate button and then select the Lodgement Declaration to download the electronic lodgement declaration.

Select Validate to prepare the SMSF annual return for lodgement.
If you have made any changes/updates to the fund's Lodging Party details, select Update Lodging Party. Do not reverse and re-create entries.
Lodgement
Important
Once you have successfully lodged an SMSF Annual Return with the ATO, you will not be able to reverse entries for that financial year and make any changes to the financial year data. However, if you need to lodge an amended annual return, see Amended Annual Returns.

Complete a Lodgement
- Select the Lodging Party.
- Validated returns linked to the Lodging Party selected will filter and appear.

Select the checkbox to the left of the fund you are lodging the return for and then select Lodge.
The tick box will not appear until a lodging party has been selected - Once the return has been successfully lodged, under the Returns Lodged section, you will see that the status next to that fund will change from Validated to Lodged (Electronically).
