How to enter an Investment Purchase in Simple Fund 360
Investment Purchases are recorded through the Transaction List.
From the Main Toolbar, go to Accounting. |

- From the Transaction List screen, select New Transaction. From the drop down list, select Bank Statement.
- Input the date of the purchase and a reference number (Simple Fund 360 will automatically produce a reference number, but it is editable). You can include a description of the purchase in the Description box.
- Under the Account heading, select the bank account from the Select an account box. Click on the next Select an account box. Begin typing and select
account 77600/INVESTCODE. - Input the number of units purchased in the Units column to account 77600/INVESTCODE and the amount of the purchase. Simple Fund 360 will post a corresponding entry to the bank account.
The Investment Purchase Details panel will appear. -
Complete the following fields in the Investment Purchase Details panel:
Field Explanation Contract Date The Contract Date is the original purchase date of an investment parcel used for CGT purposes. This date will automatically appear as the purchase date input if step 2 has been completed. This field is fully editable by selecting a date from the calendar. Settlement Date The Settlement Date is the date the investment was transferred between parties and settled. This date will automatically appear as the purchase date input if step 2 has been completed. This field is fully editable by selecting a date from the calendar. Brokerage (includes GST) Input the brokerage cost for the purchase (including GST). Consideration The consideration will be automatically calculated as the purchase price less brokerage (if any). Unit Price The unit price will be automatically calculated by the consideration divided by the number of units. Contract No. Input the Contract Number for the purchase. Account No. Input the investment trading account number the investment was purchased under. HIN Input the Holder Identification Number. Select Default HIN to allow Simple Fund 360 to pre-fill the HIN when you record a future investment purchase. -
After you have entered all information for the transaction, select Post to add the transaction and to view the Transaction List screen, or select Post & Add Another to add the transaction to the Transaction List, but remain on the Bank Statement screen.
