Binding Death Nominations

    Hello Colin,

Thanks for the question! Here's how this works in Simple Fund 360:

You can go ahead and add the binding death nomination even though you don't have specific personal details for the Legal Personal Representative. Since the nomination is naming a role ("my legal personal representative as trustee for my estate") rather than a specific individual, you can create a contact and classify it as Other Entity to represent this.

As per the Types of Contacts table below, Other Entity is designed to capture contacts that don't fit the Person, Company, or Trust categories, which fits this scenario, since you're recording the nomination without a named individual attached.

One thing to keep in mind: once an Entity type is saved, it cannot be changed. So if you later obtain the actual details of the LPR and want to reclassify the contact (e.g. to a Person), you'll need to create a new contact with the correct type and remove the original Other Entity contact, provided it isn't in use elsewhere. Worth checking the Contact Usage tab first to review any linked relationships before removing it.

Hope this helps! If you run into any issues setting this up or have further questions, feel free to reach out to our Support Team.
