Change Market Value for a specific asset

The client invested in Crypto and will provide EOFY statement.

In EOFY statement, the rate per unit is 0.00000254 and the units are 291,064,498.93390. The actual market value is 739.30.

But when manually enter the security price, I can only enter 0.000003 as that is the maximum decimal places BGL allows. So the market value on BGL is 873.19.

So this resulted in a variance in MV of $133.89, which is quite significant for this asset.

Is there a way to reconcile the MV?

  Hi Desmond, hope you have been well.

  Being unable to enter security prices beyond a 6 decimal point number is currently a technical limitation of the software. Unfortunately a more specific security price cannot be input.

  There is an alternative option to have your Cryptocurrency revalue to the correct market price, however this involves setting up the Crypto with only 1 unit in the investment, then simply revaluing to the $739.30 price.

  To summarise:

  1. The investment is recorded with 1 unit
  2. Any buys or sells are recorded as Cost Base Adjustments to this 1 unit
  3. The Security Price = Total Market Value of the Investment (which is used in revaluations)
  4. The Investment value should appear as expected, and the total units will be "1"
